10 female-owned digihealth startups across MENA will be accepeted into a programme that will look to turn ideas into minimum viable products.
Global healthcare specialist, Organon, has teamed up with famed venture capital firm, Flat6Labs, to launch a new accelerator programme in MENA. The Femtech Accelerator Programme will seek out female-owned startups working in the digital healthcare field across the region.
A total of 10 startups will be admitted into the programme, where they will receive support in turning their concepts and ideas into a minimum viable product, with a view to securing venture funding. Also marking the launch of Organon in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey, the partnership with Flat6Labs falls under a larger goal of elevating women’s healthcare at large.
“As a new regional healthcare entity with a commitment to advancing the health of women in this region, we are very excited to launch this programme supporting female entrepreneurs,” said Susanne Fiedler, chief commercial officer of Organon. “We know that investing in women has far-reaching benefits, reaping dividends for families, local and national communities, and economies. We will continue to listen to women’s needs to better understand the gaps and identify the right solutions for a better and healthier everyday for her.”
For their part, Flat6labs will provide business and technical training as well as access to their network of businesses, local and international experts, and access to big data and new opportunities. Organon will mentor the participants, connect them with global industry experts, and provide access to their internal teams and external partners.
Application processes and dates have yet to announced.
