#JSIL, which stands for the Jewish State of Israel in the Levant, has gone viral on Twitter, with many users using the hashtag to compare the Zionist state to ISIS, referring to both as rogue states that have displaced indigenous populations, among other things.
The hashtag has already sparked backlash on media outlets, such as leftist Israeli news outlet Haaretz, and New York Magazine.
The hashtag, which was originally launched by journalists Max Blumenthal and Rania Khalek, has gone viral, with many users employing it to critique Israeli practices.
