With support from the Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and other angel investors, At Home Doc, a health-tech platform based in Qatar secured $1.9 million in a pre-series A round. The financing is headed by Elaj Group's Saudi-based investment arm Tawasol Holdings to hasten the expansion of At Home Doc’s home healthcare services in Saudi Arabia.

Established by Hesham El Feshawy and Hatem El Feshawy in 2016, At Home Doc aims to increase the accessibility and affordability of healthcare services in the MENA and GCC region through cutting-edge technology.

“Our parties have a common interest to formulate a joint venture, ELAJ-AT HOME, and assign a workforce to execute the framework for the potential collaboration to pilot operations in the Saudi market,” Hesham El Feshawy, CEO of At Home Doc, tells StartupScene. “ELAJ-AT HOME aims to create a global digital clinic that incorporates doctors, medical labs, and hospitals throughout the entire group’s entities on one digital platform, making quality healthcare accessible for patients everywhere.”

The platform allows patients who are unable to travel far for in-person appointments to communicate with their primary care physician from their home. These resources include short movies on the mobile app about health and wellness, in-person home services, prescription refills, memberships offering patients savings, and online consultations.
