Suez Canal Targets 15% Share of Global Energy Trade in 2040
During 2021, the Suez Canal achieved its highest annual revenue in its history with USD 6.3 billion - a USD 720 million increase from its revenue in 2020.

The Suez Canal Authority is targeting a 15% share of global energy trade by 2040. Between 2005 and 2019, the Suez Canal has doubled its share from 4% to 8%. It hopes to nearly double that number once again by serving as an efficient trade route for energy.
