UAE-Based Electric Mobility Company Terra Raises $2 Million Seed Round

Terra, a UAE-based electric mobility company, has raised $2 million in a Seed funding round from a group of strategic angel investors. Founded in 2021 by Husam Zammar, Terra specializes in electric vehicle (EV) solutions and offers a unique battery-swapping and recharging platform along with a lineup of electric vehicles. The platform allows riders to exchange batteries seamlessly, particularly optimizing last-mile delivery services and contributing to environmental sustainability.

The funds raised in this round will be utilized by Terra to enhance both its physical and technological capabilities. Additionally, the company plans to strengthen existing relationships with key stakeholders and establish new connections as it prepares for its upcoming Series A funding round.

“Completing our seed round indicates a tremendous opportunity and potential for growth in building a sustainable solution for last-mile delivery in the region,” Husam Zammar, Founder and Managing Director of Terra, tells StartupScene. “Having entered our revenue generation cycle, this operational step leads to long-term discussions with prominent partners facilitating a pathway to improving our proprietary assets and business model to ensure an improved product and service delivery for our clients in the UAE.”

Terra recently launched its first fleet of electric motorbikes, following the completion of a pre-Seed round earlier in the year. Terra plans to expand its network of battery-swapping stations across the UAE. The funding will support upgrades to its electric motorbikes and battery-swapping concept, incorporating feedback from extensive testing to meet evolving market needs. The company also intends to source its next batch of electric motorbikes and patent its innovative intellectual property related to unique design and technological processes.

On the corporate user side, Terra aims to improve its mobile application for riders and enhance dashboard features for cloud-fleet management operators in the last-mile sector, ensuring a seamless experience for users in both aspects of its business.
