$572 million in US aid has been sent to Egypt.
The United States has sent around $572 million in aid to Egypt some 10 days ago, after Congress finally approved its release.
The news comes as US Secretary of State John Kerry touches down in Egypt ahead of a planned Middle East tour.
The latest aid payout forms part of the first tranche of some $1.5 billion in mostly military aid, which had been frozen since October amid US administration demands that the Egyptian government introduce democratic reforms.
Earlier this year The U.S. also vowed to resume delivery of ten Apache attack helicopters. However the military hardware remains in storage.
