16 New Mosques to Open in Upper Egypt on May 28th

The Ministry of Awqaf announced the opening of 16 freshly rebuilt mosques, along with seven restored mosques, on Friday May 28th, 2021. This development is part of the ministry’s effort to maintain mosques across Upper Egypt, which began in September 2020. To date, the Ministry of Awqaf has built, replaced or renewed 1,331 mosques, and touched up 105 mosques which required maintenance and restoration.


The 16 new mosques are located across Beheira, Sohag, and Qena, while the seven restored mosques are opening up in Minya, Beheira, and Qena.
