16 Year-Old Egyptian Forward Kareem Ahmed Joins Liverpool
The centre forward will join the U18 squad on a scholarship contract along with 11 other academy players.
Liverpool football club has confirmed 12 new contracts for academy players to join their class of 2023/24, including a scholarship for 16-year-old Egyptian centre forward Kareem Ahmed.
Playing at the academy since he was six years old, Ahmed already made his mark when he doubled his side’s lead in his FA Youth Cup debut last season, and then scored in a mini-derby against city rivals Everton during his U18 Premier League debut.
On a yearly basis, Liverpool intakes first-year scholars to feature in its U18 squad. The U18 began their pre-season with two victories at the AXA Training Centre, where it won’t take long before he regularly rubs shoulders with the ‘Egyptian King’. No pressure.
