45% Expected Increase in EgyptAir Ticket Prices

Al Masry Al Youm and Egypt Independent reported on Wednesday that EgyptAir is looking to increase their ticket prices by 35 to 45 percent as a result of Egypt's decision to float the pound last week. Increases, which will come into effect sometime next week, will depend on "the size of expenditures and revenues," and will continue to reflect different booking seasons and flight classes.

EgyptAir is no exception to those affected by the Central Bank of Egypt's decision to float the pound, resulting in a decision to reconsider the company's ticket pricing, according to Safwat Musallam, Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company.

Ticket prices already saw an increase of 15 to 22 percent this week due to a hike in the tickets' tax values, according to Al Masry Al Youm.
