47,000-Seat Stadium to Be Built in Khobar by 2026

Plans for the construction of a multifunctional 47,000-seat stadium in Khobar has been announced. Expected to be operational by 2026, the new stadium will be a collaboration between leading Saudi real estate developer and Public Investment Fund ROSHN Group, and integrated energy company Aramco.

When complete, the stadium will host both national and international events, including the AFC Asian Cup in January of 2027, as well as act as the home of Aramco-owned Al Qadsiah Football Club.

The stadium will cover 450,000 square metres and feature a variety of shops, restaurants and hospitable establishments. The unconventional design, made to look like whirlpool formations, is directly inspired by the ocean on Saudi Arabia’s East Coast, where the stadium will be located.

Integrated cooling systems, VIP sections, facilities designed with people with unique needs in mind are all features which will prepare this stadium to receive all 47,000 visitors.

ROSHN also recently announced plans for the construction of a 45,000-seat stadium in Southwest Riyadh, featuring crystalline architecture inspired by the centre of the Kingdom itself.
