AUC Ranked Number One Top Academic Institution in Egypt
It's official: according to Nature's Index, AUC is now a top academically distinguished institution. This seriously undermines our anti-AUC arguments, so brace yourselves for a whole lot of AUCian trash-talk.

There might be more to the American University in Cairo (AUC) than meets the eye - or the cerebral cortex, for that matter - after all. Apparently AUC faculty members have been doing a little less socialising at fancy luncheons and a little more researching lately!
Nature's Index is a global indicator of high-quality research that ranks institutions based on “the affiliations of high-quality scientific articles,” including “the quality of the publication.” Nature’s Index identifies that four scientific research articles by AUC professors Ahmed Moustafa (Associate Professor of Bioinformatics and Genomics), Nageh Allam (Associate Professor of Physics), and Tamer Shoeib (Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemistry), constitute ‘high-quality research’, reports AUC's website, placing AUC as the number one on the list of Top Academic Institutions in Egypt. The university has had more affiliations than any other institution in Egypt according to Nature Index 2015.
While some may choose to argue these claims, the fact of the matter is that institutions in Egypt are getting better, which is a benefit to all.
