Abu Dhabi Set to Host AI-Focused Meeting Ahead of COP29
The ‘change makers majlis’ is set to focus on the relationship between AI and emissions reductions.
Ahead of the upcoming COP29 set to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, a meeting on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in fighting climate change will take place in Abu Dhabi this November.
The meeting is set to be attended by global business and political leaders, as well as civil society representatives. Entitled the ‘change makers majlis’, the meeting will take place just before COP29’s commencement on November 11th of this year. The contradictory nature of AI’s high energy consumption and its usefulness in reducing emissions will also be a focal issue.
The UAE was the host nation of the COP28, which took place in Dubai from November 30th to December 13th, 2023.
