Abu SImbel's Solar Alignment Will Be Celebrated in Spectacular Style

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has released a teaser hinting at some secret at Aswan’s Abu Simbel during the solar alignment on February 22nd, 2022, a bi-annual event in which the sun’s rays penetrate the Great Temple of Ramses II and illuminate the statues on the back wall of the sanctuary. What’s in store? Another parade or maybe a festival? We’ll just have to wait for the heavenly bodies to align to find out.
