Ain Shams University Establishes its First Satellite-Connected Meteorological Centre
The first of its kind in an Egyptian university.

The dean of Ain Shams University's Faculty of Agriculture Ahmed Galal announced earlier today that the university's first Seattle-connected meteorological centre is currently being installed on the faculty's premises in order to improve scholar ability to predict potentially negative changes in the atmosphere or the environment, Masrawy reports.
Measuring the soil's humidity levels, degrees of exposure to radiation, wind velocity and direction are the main purposes of the meteorological centre, which will enable researchers to conduct scientific studies based on facts and data previously inaccessible to them.
According to Ain Shams University's press release on the matter, the technologically-advanced centre will also serve as an early-warning station for soil diseases, greatly reducing unpredictable damages to crops which usually come at a great cost.
