The Ministry of Awqaf is closing Cairo's al-Hussein Mosque for renovation and maintenance work.
The project is part of a wider agenda set by the Ministry of Awqaf in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, which includes maintaining several mosques across the country, replacing their furniture, and implementing sterilization campaigns. These preparations also involve several programmes and fatwas, as well as the doubling of charities and community services through food bonds.
The ministry has not announced a timeline for the reopening of al-Hussein Mosque.
