Al-Spacey for President

Move over Sisi, Kevin Spacey da ra2eesi! We've only got two candidates in the running to become Egypt's next president, Hamdeen Sabahi and Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, but now it appears we have a third. Who else thinks Kevin Spacey for president would be an excellent choice?

For some reason unbeknownst to us (like, why Spacey in particular? Apart from his name vaguely rhyming with Sisi), a trending spoof campaign featuring Kevin Spacey as the future leader of our nation is making the social media rounds. His 'nomination' may have something to do with his role as the 46^th President of the United States in acclaimed TV show House of Cards. Or maybe a deep appreciation of the Hollywood veteran's acting chops was the cause? Either way, Facebook and Twitter users are sharing his photo beside campaign slogans such as "Spacey for President" and "Long Live Egypt." But the most popular image of the bunch shows Spacey looking very presidential indeed, looking off the side, you know, pondering the future of the country and whatnot, with the words 'al-Spacey' instead of 'al-Sisi'. It does have a nice ring to it…

On Twitter, the spoof campaign is going strong with images being shared with comments such as "@KevinSpacey for Egypt's president.. He has my vote." Watch your back Sisi… Next thing you know they'll be making Spacey beta2as and perfumes.
