AlUla Falcon Cup Soars for the First Time With SAR 60 Million Awards
This might just be the most expensive falcon competition of all time.
The Saudi tradition of falconry is soaring higher than ever with the first edition of the AlUla Falcon Cup, taking place from December 28th to January 5th.
The AlUla Falcon Cup, organised by the Saudi Falcons Club in partnership with the Royal Commission for AlUla, will offer awards totaling SAR 60 million, making it the most expensive international falcon competition of all time.
The competition flies hot off the heels (or perhaps the claws?) of the record-breaking third edition of the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival, which became recognised as the largest falconry competition in the world by the Guinness World Records thanks to the participation of 2,654 falcons from eight countries.
