Alexandrian Beaches Get Glow-Up as Part of City-Wide Makeover

The beautification initiative has stretched out to Alexandria's legendary shorelines, where the governorate is giving its beaches a glow-up, starting with the implementation of new beach units.

When we think of Alexandria we think about its gorgeous architecture, its rich history, and the vibrancy of the Mediterranean Sea. It's a city whose beauty shouldn't be stuck in its past, and an ongoing beautification initiative titled 'The Bride of the Sea Once More' (or 'Arouset El Bahr Mn Tani' in Arabic) is making sure that beauty shines through in the here-and-now.

The initiative has stretched out to Alexandria's legendary shorelines, where the governorate is giving its beaches a massive glow-up, starting with the implementation of new beach units. These structures will act as cafeterias, bathrooms or dressers, and will be designed with a unified aesthetic that reflects the visual identity of the city, from its corniche to its public transports.

These units will be easy to assemble and disassemble, and will not obscure anyone's view of the sea. They will come with a unified colour scheme that will be matched with the beach's new umbrellas and uniforms.
