Amina K. Wins Award From British Council

Egyptian fashion designer Amina K has won the Young Creative Entrepreneur Award from the British Council.

Being the loveable hipsters that we are, it fills us with joy when someone who’s work we like finds new levels of success. We’ve documented the work of Amina K. before, most recently the sexy new line of sunglasses she designed in collaboration with Egyptian optics powerhouse Baraka. And now, we’re proud to tell you that she has been selected to take part in the prestigious 2014 Young Creative Entrepreneur Fashion and Design programme, courtesy of the British Council.

Amina will be joining other young and budding designers and fashionistas from around the world to attend a tour of London’s world-famous fashion and design powerhouses. The tour will run from the September 13-20, conveniently coinciding with London Fashion Week and London Design Week.

The British Council cited Amina’s “passion, drive, and business vision” as the reason behind bestowing her with this honour. We at CairoScene would like to congratulate Amina, and we look forward to any new work she releases in the future.
