Saudi Arabia’s first biometric e-gate scanners have been introduced at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, with self-service e-Passport gates installed at Terminals 3 and 4 to streamline the check-in process for travellers.
The implementation of e-gates is part of ongoing efforts to enhance travel procedures for citizens, residents, and visitors, while also improving the services provided by the directorate through the introduction of efficient smart and digital solutions.

In order to achieve this, the kingdom is making efforts to expand their airport infrastructure by building new airports, expanding existing ones, boosting their operation efficiency and improving travellers’ experiences.
