Birdwatching Platform Created in Sharm El Sheikh for COP27

Minister of Environment, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, announced that a bird watching platform will be set up in Sharm El Sheikh during COP27.

This activation is done in cooperation with the Migratory Soaring Birds Project, an initiative spread across 11 countries overlooking the Rift Valley and the Red Sea, with an aim to fuse conservation management objectives with the public and private sectors in 11 countries.

The viewing point has been established in a way that allows viewers to follow the paths of the migratory birds within Sharm El Sheikh, a path made available for guests participating in COP27. However, it will also be available to the public upon the conclusion of the climate conference, with plans to integrate it into future tourism programmes.
