Taking the Saudi Pro League’s sensational summer transfers spree to a whole new high, Brazilian footballing icon Neymar Jr agrees to a two-year deal worth USD 98.5 million with Al-Hilal Saudi Club.

With medicals completed, and the move soon to be announced by the Riyadh blues, Neymar is set to receive approximately USD 110 million annually. But this move isn’t simply about numbers, it marks the changing of football tides.

Al-Hilal’s blockbuster move brings an end to the galacticos era at Neymar’s previous club, Paris Saint Germain, during which he lifted five Ligue 1 titles.

The wonderkid turned icon joins a star-studded squad in Riyadh, which was strengthened this summer by the likes of Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, Milinkovic-Savic and fellow Brazilian Malcom, who netted a hat trick in Al-Hilal’s season opener.
