Cairo International Airport Unveils New Smart Services for Travellers
The airport introduces a multi-story garage, an air-conditioned moving walkway, and smart parking solutions.

Cairo International Airport has introduced a series of upgrades aimed at streamlining passenger movement and modernizing facilities, including the launch of a multi-level parking garage and an advanced air-conditioned moving walkway.
The newly opened multi-story parking facility offers over 2,250 parking spaces spread across five levels, covering a total area of 90,000 square metres. Designed to reduce congestion around the airport, the garage is equipped with advanced security features, including surveillance cameras and an automated fire suppression system. Additionally, the facility integrates a smart Park System, which highlights available parking spots in green, ensuring a smoother parking experience. An external lot has also been designated to accommodate up to 100 buses and minibuses, facilitating efficient transport for passengers and airport visitors.
As part of its sustainability efforts, Cairo International Airport has installed a solar power station on the garage rooftop, generating 300 kilowatts per hour. This initiative is expected to produce approximately 465,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, aligning with the airport’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
To enhance connectivity within the airport, a 450-metre-long air-conditioned moving walkway has been constructed, linking the parking garage with Terminals 2 and 3. With a width of 7.5 metres, the walkway is equipped with digital flight information screens, security cameras, internet access, and an integrated fire safety system.
For added convenience, the walkway features commercial spaces, restrooms, self-service luggage carts, and eight golf carts dedicated to assisting elderly passengers and individuals with disabilities. According to Cairo Airport authorities, these enhancements are part of an ongoing infrastructure modernization plan designed to align with global aviation standards
