Setting its Eyes East Bound with a theme that focuses on eastern culture, the Cairo International Arts Biennale will be returning on June 10th in full force after an eight year hiatus, with the 2019 edition set to showcase more Egyptian artists than ever before, while also inviting a range of international artists to take part.

From painters, to photographers, to visual artists, the biennale's line-up is loaded with some local art heavyweights, including the likes of Ahmed Badry, Ahmed Kassem, Marwa Adel, Essam Darwish and Youssef Nabil, while 80 artists from 50 different countries are also included. The art extravaganza will take place across three Cairo venues: the Aisha Fahmy Arts Complex, the Palace of Arts and the Egyptian Modern Art Museum.

This year, in addition to grand prize, the biennale will have five other prizes - up from three - in an effort to open the scope of exposure further.
