Cairo Metro is Now Hiring Female Drivers

The National Authority for Tunnels announced that women will now be able to join their team as train operators at the Cairo Metro, with three women currently being trained to lead the subway line on Cairo Metro Line 3.

These women are currently being trained inside the train workshops at Metro Line 3, particularly the Abbasiya workshop, as well as the recently opened Adly Mansour workshop.

The first woman to take on the role, Shatha Adel, is currently being trained with the help of a mentor in addition to the workshops. Adel’s training will be complete by the end of February.
