Cairo University Drops Religion From All Student and Faculty Papers
Cairo University President Gaber Nassar issues directive to remove 'religion' field from all university documents and papers.
Cairo University President Gaber Nassar has issued a directive cancelling the use of the ‘religion’ field in all university documents, according to Al Masry Al Youm.
The directive entails that no document involving the university’s dealings with students, faculty, and staff indicate the individual's religious views, and this applies to all departments, graduate and undergraduate programs.
Nassar said on Tuesday that the policy is effective immediately and that all university bodies are required to follow it.
