The international branch of Cairo University in 6th of October City is laying down the foundations of what will be the largest pediatric medical complex in the Middle East. The establishment of this medical complex falls under Qasr El Eyni Hospital's plan to strengthen Egypt's network of child care facilities.

This particular complex will be built across an area of 88,000 square metres, and will be able to house over 300 beds, 10 state-of-the-art operating rooms, and 10 intensive care units that will be able to serve about 90 patients. The ICUs will cover a range of specialties including cardiology and neurosurgery. The project will also include living spaces for doctors and nurses, and a number of green spaces around the building such as gardens and recreational areas.
