Cairo University to Establish Centre for Students with Special Needs

The ’Services and Support Center for People with Disabilities’ will help students engage with their education through effective communication and train them for the labour market.

Cairo University is establishing a new centre to support students with special needs. Spearheading a culture of inclusion in public Egyptian universities, the centre is built to ensure equal opportunities in partnership with AMIDEAST, an American non-profit that focuses on strengthening educational systems in the Middle East.


The ’Services and Support Center for People with Disabilities’ will help students engage with their education through effective communication and train them for the labour market.


In preparation for the centre’s opening, a team from Cairo University visited the University of Montana and University of Colorado for 10 days to learn how to effectively manage the centre and its services.
