Cairo to Receive USD 200 Million from IBRD to Fight Air Pollution
The International Bank of Reconstruction and Development has signed a USD 200 million financing agreement with Egypt to fight air pollution in Greater Cairo.

Egypt and the International Bank of Reconstruction and Development have signed a USD 200 million financing agreement to put the Greater Cairo Air Pollution Management and Climate Change Project into action. As the name suggests, the project looks to tackle air pollution and dramatically decrease harmful emissions in the Greater Cairo area. The project will be handled by the Ministry of Environment, which will focus on waste management, the reduction of emissions from vehicles, and programmes to educate the public on environmental practices.
