Capture Cairene Frames at Photopia’s Street Photography Festival

Photopia’s Street Photography Festival will give photographers the chance to explore Cairo’s ever-changing visual narratives.

Farah Desouky

Leading photography school Photopia is back with another edition of its Street Photography Festival, with Cairo’s bustling streets serving as both the subject and the classroom. Through four different workshops, Cairo’s emerging photographers will embark upon the city’s streets to capture its ever-changing visual narratives.

Outside the confines of a studio or a staged shoot, photographers will unearthing stories at every corner of historic neighbourhoods, from the City of the Dead to Al Darb Al Ahmar, Al Khayameya and Al Khalifa. The series of workshops and photo walks will take place on April 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th, with each photographer guiding a group of students through the nooks and crannies of street photography, keeping their lenses out for the city’s meandering frames.
