Cargo Ship Blocking Suez Canal Now Free & Sailing
After a full week blocking the Suez Canal, the Evergreen cargo ship Ever Given has finally been pulled free after being towed by 10 tugboats over several hours.
After blocking the Suez Canal for a week, the Evergreen
cargo ship Ever Given is now free and sailing as a result of extensive
hours-long towing efforts by over 10 tugboats. According to Leth
Agencies, a service provider and transit agent at the Suez Canal, the
Ever Given is currently sailing north on its way to the Bitter Lakes.
With the Ever Given - which is one of the largest cargo ships in the
world - now dislodged, traffic is prepared to resume at the Suez Canal,
with over 350 vessels waiting on either side of it.
