Citizens Caught Littering on Ring Road Might Face Military Prosecution
Minister of Transport asks that citizens caught throwing trash on ring road be presented to military prosecution office.
During a routine check-up on the development of the Ring Road, Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, and the leaders of the Public Authority for Roads and Bridges found waste dumped on the sides of the newly-developed areas of the road. Consequently, El-Wazir instructed law enforcement officers to arrest violators and hand them over to the Military Prosecution, according to a press release posted on the Council of Ministers' official Facebook page.
This decision, "aims to prevent accidents, preserve lives, and maintain the road's aesthetic appeal while ensuring the health requirements of the population," read the Arabic release.
