Craft Your Story With Writer Anam Sufi's Online Workshop

Writer and literary buff Anam Sufi is offering up her expertise for all the budding writers on the world wide web. An internationally published writer, Sufi’s works have appeared in Makers Movement, Midnight Tales, and BBC Radio, and is now calling on aspiring writers to perfect their prose from any corner of the world through her online workshop.

From April 19th to April 21st, Sufi is hosting an online introductory writing session for aspiring writers over the age of 16 called ‘Fundamentals of Storytelling’. The workshop is designed for anyone who wants to explore their creative potential through a course that narrows down on the components for a focused and compelling narrative.

The workshop will hammer on three main pillars, namely: ‘purpose and perspective’, ‘setting and structure’, and ‘voice and character development’. Each class will be split into three sessions on Zoom, with 45 minutes of teaching, 15 minutes of in-class writing, and 30 minutes at the end of each session for questions and comments. After each session, students will be given take-home suggestions to help them apply what they've learned and get their creative juices flowing.

Each student is urged to turn in a piece of writing (maximum of 1,000 words) to the instructor at the end of each workshop. They will be given editing notes and criticism for that specific article afterwards. Each class begins at 12 pm and runs for up to two hours, and costs EGP1,200 per person.
