we liked what we saw! The love child of Image’s interiors gurus and local craftsmen, the new subsidiary sells the most unique, 100% Egyptian made furniture and home accessories we’ve seen. And guess what? There isn’t a kaf or a kheima print in sight!

We love, love, LOVE their buttoned patchwork couch and bright mirrors and table sets, but what we really adore is their affordable prices! Though it’s a boutique store with original designs, we were glad to find out that Dokan’s eye-catching and high quality products are pretty much in line with local market prices. We caught up with one of the owners of Dokan, Reem Abou El Makarem, who explained the concept more – “Image has already established itself as a one-stop-shop for everything you need to furnish your home. Dokan is a little more exclusive and a lot more unique and is the perfect place to buy quirky finishing touches.”

Aside from their locally-made designs, Dokan also stocks vintage picture frames from across the world and hand-made Turkish rugs, all falling into the same kitsch aesthetic that drew us into the store to begin with! Dokan is currently in its soft opening stage and we can’t wait to see what gems we find when the store is officially launched early next month! “Like our designs, our opening is planned to be very special! Expect music, fun and food and even a little bit of shisha to get the party going!” says Reem. Don’t miss out on the fun and head to Dokan on Wednesday 3^rd October!
