Dubai to Build Museum of the Future

Now, of course, museums are traditionally places that store important artifacts of the past, but considering Dubai's past is pretty vacant, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum thought, fuck the past, s'all about the future. And so plans were revealed for The Museum of The Future to be constructed at the Emirates Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road in 2017.

“The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it, and execute it. Here in the UAE we think differently. While others try to predict the future, we create it,” said the Sheikh.

The aim of the museum is to become an incubator for ideas and real life designs that can push society and technology forward; a haven for innovation. The institution, which would be the first of its kind in the world will use design, technology prototyping and foresight to create real examples of change.

“The world is entering a new era of accelerated knowledge and great technological revolutions. We aim to lead in that era, not to follow and lag behind. The Museum of the Future is the first step of many to come, marking the beginning of great achievements."
