E-ticketing System Launched at Karnak & Luxor Temples

The e-ticketing system was previously applied at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir and the Giza Plateau, as part of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' efforts to digitize their services.

As part of Luxor's major touristic overhaul, a new e-ticketing system has been integrated by the Karnak and Luxor Temples.

The two temples are found at each side of the Avenue of Sphinxes, where a massive parade is due to take place to celebrate their recently completed restorations. The parade will emulate an ancient Egyptian ceremony called the 'Opet Festival', representing the bonds between the gods and people of Egypt.

The e-ticketing system was previously applied at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir and the Giza Plateau, as part of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' efforts to digitize their services. Visitors can reserve a ticket at the temples' ticketing kiosk and pay by credit card. After the parade, electronic gates will be established at the temples' entrances.
