Eastern Tobacco Company Raises Cigarette Prices by Up to EGP 4.5
New taxes has resulted in the increase of cigarette prices by EGP 4.5.

Eastern Tobacco Company has increased the prices of their cigarettes in accordance with the provisions and amendments of the Value Added Tax, as well as the Comprehensive Health Insurance Law No. 2 of 2018, which were put into action starting Sunday, April 14th. This includes their Cleopatra cigarettes and other brands, for 34.50 EGP instead of the previous 30 EGP.
The Ministry of Finance approved an increase in the maximum tax brackets for cigarettes by the maximum annual increase of 12%, according to the provisions of the Value Added Tax Law No. 177 of 2013.
