The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development is embracing a gender-oriented lens with the establishment of the ‘Equal Opportunities Unit’, which aims to promote gender inclusiveness through data-driven solutions.
These “Equal Opportunities Units’ will be established in entities affiliated with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, including the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, the National Planning Institute and the Demographic Center.
The units are entrusted with preparing databases of employees within the ministry and its affiliated agencies. The units will also analyze issues that arise as a result of gender discrimination, and propose feasible solutions to stop workplace abuse.
Data-driven reports addressing the challenges and reflecting the realities of women working at the ministry will be prepared to ensure women have proper access to training, educational programmes and a stable work-life balance.
