Egypt & Germany to Cooperate in Green Hydrogen & LNG Production

The governments of Egypt and Germany have signed an agreement to collaborate on green hydrogen and liquified natural gas (LNG) production in Egypt, in a move to further prioritise more sustainable energy sources.

The agreements have been penned through two declarations of intent between Egypt’s Ministry of International Cooperation, Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, alongside the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and German Ministry of Climate Action and Economic Affairs.

The partnership looks to reduce carbon emissions by promoting less wasteful forms of fuel, with green hydrogen playing a vital role in the global transformation of energy resources, according to Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Rania Al-Mashat.
