Egypt has successfully reached over 313,100 women across the country to offer them family planning and gynecological services for free. The programme will be expanded to cover all governorates by the end of 2021, and comes as part of the family development campaign, ‘Haya Karima’.
The health services were provided over 10 days, and included spreading awareness, educating women about childcare and miscarriage, and providing reproductive health services across Cairo, Giza, Minya, Sohag, Aswan, Beheira, Sharqeya, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Gharbia.
10 more reproductive health convoys are being launched in seven other governorates, including Fayoum, Minya, Assiut, Qena, Luxor, Damietta, and Daqahleya, bringing the total to 16 governorates.
