Egypt Ranks 30th Worldwide for Scientific Publishing in 2020

Egypt ranks 30th in the world in scientific publishing in 2020, according to the SCImago Journal & Country Rank.

The SCImago Index is one of the most reliable global indicators for scientific journals around the world, keeping track of metrics for 239 countries and over 5,000 international publishers.

Egypt is the highest ranked nation in Africa, having published 32,323 international papers during 2020. Egypt jumped up four spaces since its previous ranking in 2019, surpassing Norway, Israel and the Czech Republic on the index.
