Egypt Rises to 53rd Place in 2021 Global Knowledge Index

UNDP's annual Global Knowledge Index summarises knowledge performance of countries in terms of higher education, research, development, economy and information.

The 2021 edition of the Global Knowledge Index, organised by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), has placed Egypt in 53rd place out of 154 nations globally - a 19-rank increase from last year's placement. The annual list summarises knowledge performance of countries in terms of higher education, research, development, economy and information.


Egypt ranked 1 among all African countries, while the UAE topped the charts for Arab countries, while placing 11th globally. Switzerland tops the rankings worldwide, followed by Sweden in second and the US in third.
