Egypt Secures New Devices to Detect Coronavirus

After efforts made from the Egyptian embassy in Vienna, Egypt was able to secure two early diagnosis devices for COVID-19 patients from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The embassy was also able to secure two X-ray machines that would be used to examine the patients’ respiratory system after a confirmed diagnosis.

Ambassador to Austria Omar Amer said in a statement that they were able to obtain the devices after continuous communication with the IAEA secretariat, and that the embassy is persisting in its efforts with the agency to take advantage of the full scope of applications of nuclear energy that could contribute to the fight against the novel Coronavirus.
