Egypt's Amputee Football Team to Compete in African Cup of Nations

For the first time, Egypt's amputee football team will compete in a regional African tournament for the chance to participate in the 2022 Amputee Football World Cup in Turkey.

Egypt's amputee football team is heading to Tanzania this month for their first appearance in a regional African tournament.

The African Cup of Nations for Amputee Football will begin on November 26th, where a squad of 14 Egyptian players will compete against Nigeria and Ghana for a chance to qualify for the 2022 Amputee Football World Cup in Turkey.

Amputee football was recently introduced to Africa just two decades ago, and is an adapted sport for those who lost the functionality of one lower limb due to amputation, polio, or various other health issues.
