Egypt's Exports Exceeded USD 52 Billion in 2022

Egypt's exports witnessed a surge of 19.4% in 2022, reaching a value of USD 52.1 billion, as revealed by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS). This increase marks an upturn from the previous year's exports, which stood at USD 43.6 billion.
Finished goods accounted for a 41.2% share of the country's total exports in 2022. Meanwhile, the fuel sector comprised 33.5% of the overall export value. Egypt's exports of natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) skyrocketed by 152.7% to USD 9.9 billion in 2022, a significant leap from USD 3.9 billion in the previous year, as outlined in CAPMAS' annual foreign trade bulletin. Additionally, exports of ready-made clothing surged by 21.7%, amounting to USD 2.5 billion, while gold exports climbed by 46.8%, totaling USD 1.6 billion.
