Egypt’s Greek Community Has Donated Nearly a Quarter Million Pounds to Tahya Misr

The Greek community has followed the example of the Armenian community before them to help in the fight against COVID-19.

The Greek community in Egypt has donated the sum of EGP200,000 to the Tahya Misr Fund. The donation was made to help support the state in battling the spread of the Coronavirus, which the fund is now dedicated entirely to doing.

The donation was made under the name of the Greek Orthodox Church of Alexandria as the church applauded the government's efforts in curbing the pandemic, in similar fashion to a recent donation from the Armenian Orthodox Patriarchate. The Minister of Immigration, Nabila Makram, gave the Greek community her thanks for doing their part to support the country.
