The largest textile factory in the world will be built in El-Mahalla El-Kubra by early 2022. It was originally scheduled for completion in 2021, but was pushed forward due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The factory will power over 182,000 spinning wheels, which will be able to produce over 30 tonnes of textiles a day. Eat your heart out, Sabaawi Shalabi.
While the factory is still under construction, workers are already being trained to use the most advanced machinery that would be installed in not just this factory, but in factories across Cairo, Kafr al-Dawar and the Delta region as well.
