Egypt has won the votes to host the Senior Fencing World Championship in 2021.

The International Fencing Federation have announced that Egypt will host the Senior Fencing World Championships in 2021.
According to Ahram Gate, the decision was reached after Egypt received the votes of 126 countries, with 4 countries voting against and 3 countries in absentia during a meeting held at the federation’s headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.

President of the Egyptian Fencing Federation, Abdelmoneim Elhusseiny, spoke positively of the decision on his Facebook page. Elhusseiny praised Egypt for being the first-ever country to be selected to host the Senior as well as the Junior fencing World Championship during the same year, following the selection of Egypt to host the Junior Fencing World Championships in 2021.

Elhusseiny also shared a picture of Mohamed Hamza being honoured by the President of the International Fencing Federation, after ranking as the #1 fencer in the world in Junior Men's Foil for the 2018/2019 season.
