Egypt will establish 1,100 new centres for university students to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The centres will be set up in 830 existing vaccination centres, while 270 youth centres will be adapted to distribute the vaccine.

These new centres are part of the Ministry of Health and Population’s mission to vacinate as many students as possible before the start of the next academic year on October 9th. The ministry has expedited wait times for university students, ensuring they receive their vaccine within 24 hours of registration.

As per a decision made last August, all students, teachers and staff members must be vaccinated against COVID-19 before they are allowed to enter school grounds or their university’s campus. This rule applies to both private and public educational institutions.
