Egypt to Take Part in One of Germany’s Biggest Cultural Festivals

The Egyptian-German Organisation in Germany has come to an agreement with organisers of Museumsuferfest (Museum Embankment Festival) that will see a strong Egyptian presence in the arts and culture festival in Frankfurt, which this year is taking place Friday 23rd and Monday 26th of August.

Attracting around 3 million visitors a year, the festival takes place on the embankments of the River Main where several museums sit - hence the name. The unique event combines art, theatre, music, dance and even food. The set up stretches across 1km on both sides of the river, with additional 1 km stretch dedicated to a colourful market.

Though details of are yet to be disclosed, Egypt is to receive its own dedicated pavilion, with president of the Egyptian-German Organisation in Germany, Maged Saad, telling Egypt Today that he sees participation as a unique chance to promote tourism in the country.
